To this end I installed Windows 7 Professional x86 (which the M52 series was not certified for, I knowbut for home use that shouldnt matter too much).Now the Device Manager states an unknown device with Hardware ID ACPINSC1200, which apparently is a Winbond (National Semiconductor) TPM (Trusted Platform Module) device.

Likewise, the chipset driver can be installed in Windows Vista SP2 compatibility mode. And with the BIOS updated to the latest version you can even exchange the Pentium 4 processor for a Pentium D. Ive been trying to get it to work on Win 7 64 (M52 machine) bit but no luck so far. It is also strongly advised NOT to install the TPM driver on Windows 8 Doing so will result in the machine being locked in a boot-and-machine-repair loop. The device manager will list an unknown device, but other than that there shouldnt be a problem. It is put in directory C:SWTOOLSDRIVERSNSCTPMDriverq1tpm02us13. Thinkcentre M52 .Exe And RunRight mouse click on C:SWTOOLSDRIVERSNSCTPMDriverq1tpm02us13setup.exe and run as administrator. Win 7 will then install driver using its built in xp compatibility mode and then you will have this driver correctly installed under win 7 (Mine is win 7 64 bit) Winbond Trusted Platform Module 1.2 with these two drivers; C:windowssystem32driverstpm.sys and c:windowssyswow64Tddl.dll. ![]()
